5th Visit – Just Do It.

I had cancelled one appointment  due a week ago, and caught up with the previous tattoo sessions. So this time round I was doing more and more, as much as Dr Tam allows, and my body can take.

We did both shoulder blades, the whole neck and we started on the lower back (Hanuman and scriptures) this time round. I was twitching when they got to the lower back – the pain was worse than that of the upper back. Despite the ice packs/numbing cream/cold wind/my clenching of fists, I couldn’t help but ask Dr Tam, ‘How much more? / Are we done? / Done soon? / Ok already?’

All sorts of distractions, from Bruno Mars to God to grocery shopping list to pineapples to if I needed to trim my nails couldn’t take my mind off the pain.

I don’t want to sound like a whiner too much, but yes this pain is real. It is SO REAL. Think 50 times before you get a tattoo.

All wrapped up for Christmas in July

I’ve discovered a new way of soothing my itch – I rub myself against the wall or backrest when they act up. The first week would always prove to be unbearably itchy that I would wake up in the middle of the night just to scratch them. Sometimes I would go “UUURRRHHHHH!” out of the blue because it irritates me so much. I have since run out of Supirocin (the antibiotic cream) though I have been using it scarcely.
